Despite its metropolitan location, Vancouver has its fair share of panoramic parks, offering visitors not only a glimpse of greenery amidst the urban action, but also distinctive wildlife and architecture.
One of the city’s premier parks, Stanley Park is a panoramic green space offering a host of adventure opportunities, from bicycling to outdoor swimming. The landscape itself is stunning, combining beaches with old growth forest. The area is also blessed with an iconic First Nations totem pole display, and the famous Vancouver Aquarium. Stanley Park is a great place to catch wildlife in action, in various stunning settings.
Capilano Suspension Bridge crosses to towering evergreens, cedar-scented rainforest air and Treetops Adventure, 7 suspended footbridges offering views 110 feet above the forest floor. The new Cliffwalk follows a granite precipice along Capilano River with a labyrinth-like series of narrow cantilevered bridges, stairs and platforms.
The Vancouver Aquarium is home to over 70,000 fascinating creatures including majestic beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, curious sea otters, harbour seals and stellar sea lions.
