I DREAM IN BALENCIAGA

A tailor-made piece drawing inspiration from Madrilenian aesthetics and Spanish tailoring from Balenciaga to Oteyza, located at the front desk of the hotel.

Introducing an interplay between light and dark, detail and color, the artwork fuses the sense of opulence, grandeur, and drama inherent in Spanish architecture, court painting, and fashion. The richness of historical costumes and textiles, combined with contemporary craftsmanship, create a unique 3D tableau, an ode to local heritage.

WALDWEBEN DIPTYCH

Inspired by the romantic opera "Siegfried" by Wagner, this delicate diptych captures light by using a sophisticated technique of overlapping colors and textures.

Placed in the Villa 22 meeting space, Waldweben sets the mood of this untypical space and captures the unique spirit of the 19th century through an exotic and enchanted landscape.

IF WALLS COULD TALK

Tarde.O bar is where visitors gather together to celebrate memorable moments in day-to-day life. There, one would be welcomed by a cascade of personalities who shaped the place throughout history. A collection of real and imaginary portraits pays a humoring homage to the very residential habit of displaying images of loved ones.

The surreal narratives created by Fares Micue invite us to wonder at the worlds within.

In the One Bedroom Suite, we are entering the world of Enrique Crooke Larios, also known as the Marquis of Genal, who purchased the palace at the dawn of the 20th century and turned it into an ongoing celebration of the arts. He was known for hosting some of Madrid’s most glamorous and lavish banquets in what was its cultural Edad de Plata.

SPREADING A WING

A ninth floor welcomes the guest with the work “Spreading a Wing” by Josephine Cardin, 1980.

Inspired by the fashions of the 19^th century as well as romanticism and dance, this work seems to be still shot from the life of a noble living in the palace at its height of prosperity. The artist herself explores various themes of womanhood and human sensibilities to bring the viewer a glimpse into the life of the subject.
